The Lenore
Baltimore, MD
Named after an Edgar Allan Poe poem, The Lenore is a renovation of the former Federal Reserve Bank designed in 1926. located in Baltimore’s central business district The Lenore consists of 102 units. Amenities include an iPad bar, cyber lounge, gated dog walk area, lounge and fitness center.
The design objective was to incorporate contemporary elements within the existing historic building to create a sophisticated hospitality atmosphere with upscale amenities. The design team addressed these objective by inserting an oversized feature wall in the center of the lobby. This serves a dual purpose as the entry focal point and an anchor for the reception desk. A dramatic effect was created through the juxtaposition of the contemporary feature wall, comprised of sculptural panels and cylindrical lighting, with the existing ornate plaster ceilings and Corinthian marble columns.
